Our Brand Story
Nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of South Africa is the iconic Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest game reserves, established in 1898. Named after Paul Kruger, the President of the South African Republic from 1883 to 1900, the park spans nearly 20,000 square kilometers and is renowned for its incredible biodiversity, including the famed “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. Paul Kruger championed the park during his presidency, recognizing the importance of preserving the nation’s natural heritage for future generations. His efforts laid the foundation for wildlife conservation in South Africa, a vision that continues to inspire eco-tourism and preservation initiatives.
Reino Kruger and his team at Stellenview takes pride in crafting exceptional wines from the finest grapes sourced from the renowned Stellenbosch region, celebrated for its ideal climate and fertile soils. Each vineyard is carefully selected & tended to, ensuring that only the best grapes are selected for our wines.
Our meticulous winemaking process involves maturing the wines in small oak barrels for 18 to 24 months. This aging enhances the complexity and depth of flavour, allowing the wine to develop nuanced aromas and a harmonious balance. The result is a collection of wines that embodies both tradition and innovation, offering a genuine taste of our family’s legacy and the distinctive character of the Stellenbosch terroir.
As you enjoy our wines, you not only savour the essence of the grapes but also connect with the Kruger family’s storied heritage and the natural wonders that surround us. The spirit of adventure and reverence for nature that characterized Paul Kruger’s presidency, and the establishment of Kruger National Park resonates through our winemaking philosophy, celebrating the rich tapestry of South African history and the breathtaking landscapes that define it.
